Introducing the latest collection from VICNATE, N°6, featuring the timeless African beauty, Funmi Iyanda.

VICNATE, renowned for its timeless designs, proudly presents the captivating campaign shoot for its SISI GIRL Collection N°6. Originally launched with 15 Demi-couture pieces and elegant evening garments, this collection pays homage to the spirit of Southern Nigerian women who fearlessly challenge societal norms.

The N°6 collection captures the elegance and self-assurance that come with age, honoring women who have embraced their imperfections and unique qualities, thus no longer seeking validation from others. This pivotal moment signifies a shift where women prioritize their own desires and aspirations. This transformative change is most evident in how these women dress and present themselves to the world.

The fascination with this metamorphosis has captivated artists for centuries, and today, particularly in Nigeria, the gracefulness of older women commands attention and admiration.

These women, often categorized by age and social class, are seldom seen or heard. Their legendary presence is glimpsed at events and functions, marveling at their poise and aura. However, engaging with them is rare, as capturing oneself in such a manner is considered commonplace.

In recent years, Nigerian fashion has endeavored to emulate the understated elegance of these women through the ‘quiet luxury’ trend. As a designer, VICNATE draws inspiration from the refinement and confidence of these women. Beyond dressing them, the brand aims to document their stories and celebrate their sophistication through portraiture.

In a remarkable collaboration, the campaign shoot features Funmi Iyanda, a distinguished style icon and one of Nigeria’s most charismatic media entrepreneurs. It initiates a profound conversation about age, refinement, beauty, and self-expression.

As a tribute to the traditional event portrait, which is gradually being overshadowed by technology in Nigerian social circles, this collaboration celebrates the lost art of portraiture and the deliberate act of self-documentation, particularly for women.
