Prime Video is set to release the Nigerian film “Water and Garri” worldwide in 2024, exclusively in over 240 countries and territories. The movie stars renowned singer/songwriter Tiwa Savage and follows the story of Aisha, a fashion designer who returns to her homeland after a decade in the United States.
As she reconnects with her family, friends, and past love, she must confront the challenges and guilt she left behind. Filmed in Cape Coast, Ghana, the film showcases captivating cinematography and storytelling. Alongside Tiwa Savage, the cast includes Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde. Ayanna Lonian, director of content acquisition at Prime Video, expressed excitement about delivering a well-made African story to global audiences.
